Womens league signifies that it is an organization established by women, managed by women, staff of the school consists mostly of women. In short, it is an womens’ enterprise. It is therefore befitting to be called Womens’ league. Peace signifies to educate the children from their earliest years in the school in the cause of peace and understanding amongst peoples. It is not just in the classrooms that the ideas of peace can be installed in the minds of children but also through purposeful activities in which cooperation on the part of the children becomes a natural necessity. Through co-operation, friendship grows and through friendship comes peace

Our Founder
WPL was founded in 1952-53 by Late Smt. Rajam Saraswathi, who was an English teacher at Mahila Seva Samaja. The school was founded and run by a team of dedicated and learned women from various walks of life. It is an aided school imparting education to both boys and girls from Nursery to Tenth standard, both in English and Kannada Medium.The school is run by a Managing Committee, comprising of Honorary Members. Having made a humble beginning in a small house “Woodbines” with just 15 children, the school has grown exponentially over the years. It now, has its own building with a spacious playground and an enrolment of above 800 children.
